MultiSpin.AI Consortium Aligns on Next Steps
The MultiSpin.AI consortium recently gathered online for a productive project meeting, bringing partners together to review technical progress, discuss recent achievements, and align on the next steps ahead. MultiSpin.AI is a three-year EU-funded project developing a new generation of n-ary spintronic edge-computing technology aimed at enabling faster and more energy-efficient AI hardware.
Among the most encouraging updates presented during the meeting was the strong progress in M2TJ fabrication and characterization. These activities are central to the MultiSpin.AI technology development roadmap, which combines the design and fabrication of advanced magnetic structures with their testing and validation for future AI-oriented hardware integration.

The discussions also confirmed that several challenges faced by the consortium only a few months ago have now been successfully resolved. This marks an important step forward for the project and demonstrates the value of close collaboration across the consortium’s interdisciplinary expertise. According to the project’s public roadmap, MultiSpin.AI is working toward milestones including multi-state device demonstrations, benchmarking, and proof-of-concept validation of a spintronic crossbar-based architecture.
In parallel with the technical sessions, the meeting also included an IP workshop dedicated to clarifying concepts related to innovation protection. This exchange was particularly relevant in the context of the EU Innovation Radar, helping partners strengthen their shared understanding of how to protect and position project results for future impact. MultiSpin.AI’s public project materials emphasize that innovation impact and the path toward commercialization are important dimensions of the initiative alongside scientific excellence.
As the project continues to advance, the consortium remains focused on unlocking the potential of spintronics for sustainable, low-power AI. The successful online meeting reinforced both the strong momentum of the work and the partners’ commitment to shaping the next generation of neuromorphic and edge AI technologies.
