MultiSpin.AI Partner Recognized: Susana Cardoso de Freitas Elected EMA Vice-President

We are proud to share that our partner Prof. Susana Cardoso de Freitas (INESC-MN) has been elected Vice-President of the European Magnetism Association (EMA) during the General Council meeting at JEMS 2025.

This recognition highlights Susana’s outstanding contributions to the magnetism and spintronics community, as well as her leadership in advancing collaborations between academia and industry. In her new role at EMA, she will continue to shape the future of the European magnetism community by fostering diversity, sustainability, and support for young researchers.

Susana’s role in our project

Within the project, Susana and her team at INESC-MN bring more than 25 years of expertise in thin film materials, spintronics, and nanoelectronics device fabrication. INESC-MN was a pioneer in the development of MRAM devices in 2004 and continues to lead innovation in advanced magnetic and electronic components.

In our consortium, Susana’s group is responsible for:

  • Design and fabrication of M2TJs devices (WP2)
  • Characterization of M2TJs devices (WP3)
  • Fabrication of the 4×4 crossbar (WP2)

Leveraging their state-of-the-art cleanrooms and advanced electrical and magnetic characterization facilities, Susana and her colleagues are driving the technological foundation of the project.

About Susana Cardoso de Freitas
